Nanum European Cranberrybush is a dwarf multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a very dense rounded habit. Its glossy maple-like dark green foliage has a vibrant red-purple fall color that can become mediocre with shade or stress. Best color in full sun and evenly moist well-drained soils. Can spread aggressively. Nanum is grown for its foliage as it produces few, if any, flowers or fruit.
