Pineapple Sage is a tender upright clumping herbaceous perennial with a rounded habit of soft haired green foliage that has a pineapple aroma and flavor when crushed. Tall spikes of tiny vibrant red two-lipped flowers bloom from late summer into fall, attracting hummingbirds. Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils. Tolerates light shade and poor soils.
