Munstead Wood Rose is a compact deciduous shrub with glossy dark green foliage that emerges with a red-bronze tint. The large fragrant deep crimson flowers are densely packed and deepen to velvet crimson or plum as it ages, and bloom in flushes from late spring to mid fall. Best grown with full sun in rich and moist well-drained, lightly acidic soils. Munstead Wood has good disease resistance, and a strong old rose scent with notes of blackberry, blueberry and damson.
