Pardon My Lavender Bee Balm is a dwarf herbaceous perennial with upright stems and aromatic serrated dark green foliage. The full sized fuchsia purple fringe-like flowers blooms in whorls at the top of the thick stems in summer, attracting bees and butterflies. Best bloom in full sun and well-drained soil. Has good resistance to powdery mildew.
Monarda didyma is a native host for several moths, including Gray Marvel and Hermit Sphinx. The flower nectar also attracts TONS of other pollinators such as, bees, butterflies, and the Ruby-Throated hummingbird.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Root rot can be an issue in poorly-drained soils. Susceptibility to foliar diseases increase if the soil is allowed to dry. Watch for rust.
