Blue Billow Hydrangea is a compact hardy deciduous shrub with a dense habit of rich green foliage that earns burgundy hues in fall. The lace-cap flowers freely bloom on old wood in summer with an opening color that depends on the PH of the soil- in acidic soils the flowers will be light blue while alkaline flowers will be light pink- before maturing to crimson. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Medium Maintenance. Mulch soil to maintain moisture and overwinter. If pruning is needed do so after flowering. Slight susceptibility to bud blight, wilt, leaf spot, and mildew. Aphids are occasional problems.
