One in a Melon Echinacea is a well-branching native perennial with strong upright stems and deep green foliage. The large golden-melon orange flowers with dark gold cones soften with age, and bloom from mid summer into fall. If deadheaded, the bloom can be extended to frost. Thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. The flowers attract butterflies and bees, and spent stems will stay erect and attract birds if not removed. Drought tolerant.
