Fairytrail Fresco Hydrangea is a cascading hydrangea, a compact deciduous shrub with horizontal branching and trailing stems sporting rich deep green leaves that turn dark red to burgundy in fall. The profuse clusters of frilly flowers that bloom along the joints open green and mature to a color that depends on the soil PH - soft pink in alkaline or soft blue in acidic soils- and bloom throughout summer attracting pollinators. While it can tolerate full sun, its best blooms are in part sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils. Fairytrail Fresco blooms on old wood.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Medium Maintenance. Mulch soil to maintain moisture and overwinter. If pruning is needed do so after flowering. Slight susceptibility to bud blight, wilt, leaf spot, and mildew. Aphids are occasional problems.
